Information

1) A man, recently divorced, discovers his cat Goliath has gone missing, has a nervous break down and takes it out on his suburban neighbors and co workers. Yes, I have seen this film. This film was Directed by David Zellner, produced by Nathan Zellner and stars David and Nathan Zellner.

2) They have made feature length films before, but this is their most successful. The Zellner brothers are from Austin, Texas. I could not find exactly where they went, but David has a film degree and Nathan has a computer science degree. I could not find funding information.

3) The film did play the festival circuit. It played at Sundance, SXSW, Florida Film Festival, AFI Dallas, Independent Film Festival Boston, Cinevegas, and Maryland Film Festival. Also, played at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, Raindance film festival and the Off-Camera Film Festival. Commercially, it played on IFC Films on demand channel and IFC Films distributes it. The film can be bought on dvd today.

4) I did find reviews for this film. One of which was on film threat.com. The critics said it was funny in a dark or deadpan way. I was unable to find a press release.

5) I could not find information on their gross earnings, however, the audience of the festivals either loved the film or hated it.

6) As collateral they used posters, a website, and a trailer. I feel the website and the trailer worked well. The trailer was done with the same humor as the movie and kept the movie ambiguous. The poster did the same, but I felt it was misleading.

7) I think their angle was to promote the cuteness of the cat and also the crazed nature of the man. I would focus more on the man's breakdown and less on the cat because the cat was hardly in the movie and I would not want cat lovers to be disappointed.
